High Powered Outdoor Commercial Lighting Solutions

Commercial-grade LED flood lights are designed to provide powerful, reliable outdoor area lighting. Made with corrosion-resistant materials and a durable construction, these fixtures are built to withstand the elements. LED technology ensures that your outdoor lights last for years to come, with certain fixtures carrying an L70 lifetime of up to 100,000 hours.

Commercial flood and area lights are suitable for a wide range of applications, including highlighting landscaping and architectural features, providing outdoor security lighting, illuminating business perimeters, and making exterior spaces feel more secure. Various mounting options allow these lights to be mounted from different poles, posts, and brackets for increased versatility.

Equivalent Wattage

LED flood lights are designed to emit the same light output as traditional lighting solutions while using a lower energy consumption. Therefore, if you are shopping for a replacement fixture, choose an LED solution that has an equivalent or comparable wattage to your current lighting. The equivalent wattage is the wattage it takes an LED fixture to emit the same amount of light as a metal halide, fluorescent, or halogen light.

Choosing the Best Flood Lights

There are many things you should consider when choosing LED flood lights for your business.

  • Photocells: Certain flood and area lights feature integrated photocells that automatically turn your exterior lights on and off based on ambient lighting levels. Having your lights turned off when they are not needed can provide your business with higher energy savings over time.
  • Color Temperature: Our flood lights and area lights are available in warm white, natural white, and cool white to fit a variety of applications. A cool white CCT is best suited for security and sign lighting since it appears brighter. On the other hand, a warmer CCT is often used to create a comfortable exterior environment and to replace high-pressure sodium lamps. We also offer commercial flood lights with selectable CCT to let you choose the best CCT for your space.
  • Lumen Output: The amount of lumens your flood light needs to emit will entirely depend on the size and area of what you wish to illuminate. Large, wide spaces will benefit from a brighter, more intense beam, while smaller areas will be sufficiently lit with a flood light emitting a lower range of lumens. We can also provide IES files and photometric diagrams for our flood lights. Contact one of our lighting experts at 1-888-249-8166.

Light Distribution Type

The light distribution pattern of outside flood lights can be described by a NEMA classification. The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) has developed light beam distribution classifications based on how light is shown over a vertical and horizontal plane. Lights with different horizontal and vertical beam angles are represented by two numbers: Horizontal Type # x Vertical Type #. Most of our flood lights emit a wide NEMA 7x7 beam pattern.

Area light fixtures casting downward lights typically use the IESNA light beam distribution classification instead. The Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA) categorizes light distribution patterns based on how light is distributed over a horizontal plane. There are five main IESNA distribution types: Type I, Type II, Type III, Type IV, and Type V. Most area lights from Industrial Commercial Lighting emit a Type V, meaning the light is evenly distributed in a symmetrical pattern.

Mounting Options

Knuckle Mount

Knuckle mounts have an adjustable knuckle to help angle the fixture head and direct light where it is needed. These industrial-grade mounts are screwed into outdoor junction boxes or conduits using the conduit threading.

Knuckle Slipfitter Mount

A slipfitter mount slides over the end of a pole, post, or tenon and tightens into place. The diameter of the mount must be large enough for the post you intend to use it with. Slipfitter mounts also feature an adjustable base to aim the LED fixture head.

Yoke Bracket

Yoke mounts feature a U-shaped bracket that wraps around the light and allows the fixture to be angled. This is one of the most versatile mounting options as they can be mounted to almost any flat surface.

Surface Mount

Surface mount brackets help attach HPAL2 series area flood lights to flat walls or ceilings.

Square Pole Mount

Mount HPAL2 series area lights to square poles for installation in parking lots stadiums, and street lights.

Yoke Mount with Eye Bolt

A yoke mount with an eye bolt allows for ceiling and chain suspension for your HPAL2 series area light.
