Why Choose LED Lighting for Your Office Space?
Overpowering light output and constant buzzing have been known to induce migraines and put excess strain on employees' eyes. LEDs are better for offices due to their improved light quality, advanced dimming capabilities, and tunable CCT options. Unlike traditional lighting, certain fixtures and bulbs are ‘flicker-free,’ limiting the physical effects.
Our in-house test lab verifies we carry products that meet our standards of quality. All of our products feature impressive warranties, with lifetime warranties available for specific products. We have 10 different product categories for office spaces, each with a wide array of fixtures, including retrofit options for upgrades and styles for new builds!
Types of LED Office Lighting

LED Panel Lights
LED flat panel lights replace fluorescent drop ceiling fixtures. Because of their even light spread, LED panels are great for overhead lighting in larger office spaces where multiple workspaces or cubicles need sufficient lighting. These fixtures are dimmable, and certain products come with selectable CCT and wattage to fit your office needs.

LED Troffer Lights
LED troffer lights are fixtures available as substitutes for fluorescent troffers. They can be 1x4, 2x2, or 2x4. Troffer light fixtures can significantly improve overhead lighting due to their wide beam angle and sufficient light coverage. Most of our troffer lights are DLC-listed, meaning rebates are available for offices that choose them for upgrades. Selectable CCT and wattages are available.

LED Retrofit Light Kits
LED Retrofit kits refurbish traditional troffer lights, metal halides, strip fixtures, and various tube lights by replacing various components (i.e., ballast, bulbs, or tubes). The kits can provide upgraded lighting in general office spaces, bathrooms, breakrooms, and private offices. Specific kits offer selectable CCT and wattages, making your lights customizable.

Recessed Downlights
Recessed downlights are available in can light retrofit, canless downlights, or downlights with a built-in junction box to ensure there’s an option whether you’re retrofitting these lights or building a new office. Can light retrofits are ideal for replacing outdated lights, whereas canless recessed lighting simplifies installation in both existing applications and new builds. Built-in junction boxes are ideal for new structures. Several trim styles are available.

Track Lighting
Track lights are fixtures that can adjust the lighting in all directions. They provide additional lighting over desks, in hallways, or even to highlight artwork or company signs. Different track lengths are available. Certain track lighting fixtures have selectable beam angles and CCT, making them adaptable to fit a changing environment.

Exit Signs & Emergency Lighting
Emergency lights and exit signs with lights are mandatory for office spaces. Using LEDs for these signs ensures the lights last longer, meaning fewer replacement costs. LEDs also provide increased visibility, with all our exit signs and emergency lighting providing at least 90 minutes of emergency lighting. We carry many LED exit signs and emergency lights with thermoplastic flame-retardant material to minimize fire impact and our NYC Compliant fixtures feature steel housing. All of our exit signs and emergency lighting are UL 924 Listed.

Flush Mount Ceiling Lights
Flush mount ceiling lights are modern-looking fixtures that allow for a less obtrusive look that lets them blend seamlessly into office spaces. Most of the flush mount lighting fixtures are round, but a square option is available. Since these fixtures are smaller than troffer and panel lights, these are ideal for individual office spaces, bathrooms, or hallways.

Integrated Tube Lights
Integrated LED tube lights feature clear and frosted lenses for seamless, uniform lighting. In integrated LED lights, the LEDs are built into the fixture, so they do not require replacing ballast or bulbs. These tube lights are linkable and come in various lengths, allowing for continuous light illumination in your space, and making them great for general overhead lighting. Larger T8 tubes provide increased illumination in workspaces requiring broader light coverage.

Networked Lighting Controls
Fixtures using Networked Lighting Controls (NLC) communicate seamlessly between Bluetooth Mesh networks. The Bluetooth Mesh network lets you control multiple fixtures simultaneously through phones or tablets. Controllability includes powering lights on or off, dimming the intensity, scheduling your lights, and changing the CCT with our troffer lights. These lights feature motion sensors to detect people and movement and can use daylight harvesting to dim based on the available natural light. Networked Lighting Controls are available for a wide variety of products.

Tube Lights
Tube replacement lights are fluorescent replacements for various tube sizes, including T5, T8, T9, and T12s. These LED tube lights are installed directly into the existing housing without completely replacing the fixture. Type A (ballast compatible), Type B (ballast bypass), Type A/B Hybrid (Type A and Type B single end), and Type A/B 3-in-1 Universal (Type A and Type B single and dual end) are available. Use these for uniform lighting over desks or in conference rooms.

Office Lighting FAQs
What is the best lighting for office spaces?
LEDs are the best option for lighting office spaces. LEDs emit less heat and last longer than traditional fixtures, saving money on electricity bills and replacement costs. The specific fixtures will vary based on the space. Most installations in larger spaces use troffer, panel, or tube replacement lights for overhead lighting, while task, integrated tubes, or recessed lighting is ideal for individual offices, breakrooms, or restrooms.
How does LED office lighting improve productivity?
LEDs provide a uniform light display while minimizing eye strain, allowing employees to concentrate on their work. Their high-quality illumination ensures better visibility while working on tasks and projects.
What color temperature is ideal for office lighting?
Office lighting should have a natural to cool white (at least 4000K) color temperature to promote focus and alertness. Areas such as breakrooms, restrooms, or walkways can have warmer color temperatures (at least 2700K).
How do I reduce glare in office lighting?
Simply reduce glare by using low-glare LEDs, or LEDs fitted with frosted lenses or diffusers to create a more even light distribution. Specifically, troffers and panels, provide a uniform light spread to eliminate glare.
What are the best LED panel lights for offices?
Drop ceiling flat panel lights are a great solution for office spaces. Drop ceiling fixtures can be installed directly into an existing ceiling grid system. Tunable CCT panel lights are a great option if you want the ability to adjust lighting.
How do I choose the right brightness for office lighting?
Adjust brightness based on the purpose of the space. For the lighting above cubicles or in individual offices, a more powerful light with greater lumens should be used, whereas lighting in the bathrooms or breakrooms can have a less intense, warmer light.
For more information, this blog explains the IES recommended lighting levels based on the room's purpose.
What is the best lighting layout for open-plan offices?
Open-plan offices need uniform lighting. Install troffer or panel LEDs to ensure light is consistently spread throughout the area. Verify fixtures are adequately spaced apart so there are no gaps in lighting. The Luxiflux Lighting Layout Tool is featured on certain product pages and provides the recommended luminaires and footcandles based on the layout of your space (width, length, height, etc).
Are dimmable LED lights good for office environments?
Dimmable LEDs benefit office environments due to their energy efficiency and cost savings. Lights can be dimmed when the office is closed to reduce energy. LEDs with daylight harvesting can be dimmed based on available natural light.
How can LED lighting reduce energy costs in office buildings?
LEDs consume less energy than traditional lighting fixtures, leading to a reduction in electricity bills.
What are the best task lighting options for office desks?
For retrofitting lighting in your office, magnetic strip retrofit kits and 2x4 light panels are great for providing task lighting above desks. For offices without a drop ceiling, use track lights. These fixtures are adjustable, can be focused directly onto the desk space, and are adaptable if desks are rearranged.
